ShittyBoyz is a Detroit, Michigan-based hip-hop collective whose irreverent name masks one of the most creatively productive rap groups to emerge from the city in recent years. The group consists of BabyTron, StereoVision, and TrDee, with BabyTron serving as the breakout solo act who has carried the group's profile to a national level.
The group formed in the late 2010s out of the Ypsilanti, Michigan area — Metro Detroit's fertile underground rap community. BabyTron, StereoVision, and TrDee began releasing collaborative tapes and singles, building a grassroots following through SoundCloud and YouTube before mainstream attention arrived.
Their humor-driven approach, combined with genuine technical rapping ability, set them apart from many contemporaries. ShittyBoyz tapes often feature rapid-fire verses, absurdist punchlines, and references to Detroit culture, sports, and pop culture.
BabyTron's 2019 BIN Reaper tape with Lil Yachty brought the group national attention for the first time. Since then, BabyTron has maintained a prolific release schedule — albums, mixtapes, collaborative projects — while the group as a whole continues to release ShittyBoyz material. His XXL 2022 Freshman recognition cemented his place as one of Detroit's most important artists of his generation.
"Tron Cena" is a BabyTron solo release, but it exemplifies everything ShittyBoyz stands for: humor, creativity, cultural awareness, and sharp bars delivered with confidence. The group's ethos of never taking themselves too seriously while still bringing real craft to every release is front and center in BabyTron's John Cena tribute.
